Abstract

Safety risk management is an imperative concern in engineering laboratories, where complex experiments and emerging technologies increase accident potential. This study provides a systematic analysis of factors influencing safety risk management in such settings. This systematic literature review involves 23 articles that adhere to PRISMA guidelines and categorize the factors influencing safety protocols. The study revolves around question research is what are the key factors influencing safety risk management practices in engineering laboratories, and how do these factors impact the overall safety environment? Through this lens, the research identifies and classifies contributing factors into five key domains: 1) Risk Management Protocol, 2) Organizational Factor, 3) Physical and Environmental Factor, 4) External Factors and Contextual, and 5) Innovative Future-Oriented Directions. These domains intricately influence safety measures. Findings highlight effective safety protocols, organizational cohesion, regulatory compliance, and innovative safety strategies. This nuanced understanding enhances safety measures, reduces accidents, fosters a safety-centric culture, and ensures compliance. The study contributes significantly to scientific knowledge on safety risk management in engineering laboratories, addressing the critical need to protect human and environmental well-being.
